Our CEO as a speaker at 9th ASIS International Middle East Security Conference

ASIS International has announced that Mr. Michael J Padilla Pagan Payano, CEO of Al Thuraya Holdings (ATH), will be speaking at the 9th ASIS International Middle East Security conference which will be held in the Kingdom of Bahrain on 4-6 November 2019. Mr. Payano will be speaking on the program of Transport and Critical Infrastructure section. The topic will address a customer who is in an exploration and production company in Egypt and how social risk – even the threat of it — is quickly becoming the number one source of disorder and disruption for our modern world. From civil unrest to the aftermath of any disaster, social risk is quickly becoming one of the greatest threats to the public and private sector worldwide. However, for as large a threat as it is, the spread of social risk is still largely misunderstood, misrepresented, and at times neglected in conventional risk management – leaving governments, societies, and businesses deeply vulnerable to its adverse consequences.

The theme of the conference will be “Industrial Revolution 4.0 Enabling Security” and will feature over high-level educational sessions for and by international security experts. Around 500 senior security professionals, corporate executives, consultants, architects and law enforcement officials are expected to participate.

Michael for the past 30 years or so has been involved with high-octane, high-performance and elite teams operating within a sphere of uncertainty, a world of ever changing, ever evolving situations; a place where plans and objectives can change in an instant, where unpredictable circumstances require immediate action, where setbacks are common place, where injuries are frequent and where cerebral stamina always wins the day and so we built these companies to understand and assess the unpredictable and make it predictable.

Our companies’ goal is to support our customers in uncovering the various identity layers across race, religion, gender and other demographics, in any socioeconomic or geopolitical condition. Our goal has been to pinpoint the dominant identity within a population or specific target group, identify the underlying social tensions that drive instability, and inform the development of effective narratives and engagement strategies that resonate with the greatest segments of a population or demographic group. When applied to complex social problems, our analysis delivers effective solutions.
