Senior Front-End Engineer at SoveraTech
Job Summary
The Senior Front-End Engineer at SoveraTech Technology owns the surfaces the company’s clients touch: the client portal, operational dashboards, the interfaces to the company’s AI assistants, the onboarding journey, and the product demonstrations shown to clients and investors. The role delivers in React and TypeScript, integrates against the APIs built by the technical team, and ships every surface in English and Arabic as equals, right to left, from first release.
The role differs from a conventional front-end position in one respect that should be understood before applying. A set of AI agents produces a significant share of first-draft work, including components, typed clients and tests. Those agents propose and cannot release. The Senior Front-End Engineer reviews, corrects, integrates and releases that work, and is accountable for what reaches a client. The post-holder will write less code from scratch than in a conventional role and will be responsible for considerably more of what ships.
This is not a brand, marketing, back-end infrastructure, or ticket-processing role. We are seeking an engineer with strong product judgment who can independently evaluate requirements, challenge assumptions, and make sound technical decisions. The successful candidate will be comfortable reviewing AI-generated and machine-produced outputs with a critical eye, validating quality and accuracy, and taking ownership of the final deliverables. This role requires a professional who combines technical expertise with analytical thinking and accountability, ensuring that solutions meet business needs and operational standards.
Responsibilities
1. Client-Facing Product Surfaces
- Design, build and maintain the client portal, operational dashboards, and reporting views in React and TypeScript.
- Build the interfaces to the company’s AI assistants, including chat surfaces, streamed responses, tool activity display and the approval controls that make the human release step visible to a user.
- Build and maintain the onboarding journey and customer-facing product paths, including empty, loading and error states.
- Deliver mobile experiences as responsive web and progressive web applications, and support native mobile development where the roadmap and a client requirement call for it.
- Ensure every surface is usable on the devices and connection speeds clients actually use.
2. Verification and Release Interfaces
- Build and maintain the verification interface through which a named reviewer settles an intelligence entry against its evidence and releases it.
- Ensure that interfaces which gate a release make the gate unambiguous, including what is outstanding and who is accountable.
- Support the presentation of audit and provenance information so a client or reviewer can trace an output to its source.
3. Bilingual and Right-to-Left Delivery
- Deliver every surface in English and Arabic as equals, from first release rather than as a subsequent localisation pass.
- Implement right-to-left layout correctly, including mirrored components, iconography, form behaviour, numerals and typography pairing.
- Maintain a bilingual check that runs on each screen before release.
4. Direction and Review of AI Agent Output
- Brief the agents supporting front-end delivery, review what they produce, and reject or correct output that is wrong.
- Maintain accountability for all released work irrespective of whether it was drafted by an agent or written by hand.
- Identify where agent output fails systematically and feed those findings back into the briefs and controls.
5. Integration with Platform Systems and APIs
- Build typed clients against the APIs developed by the technical team, with fixtures and tests.
- Handle authentication, session state, permissions and tenancy correctly in the interface layer.
- Handle failure modes properly, including timeouts, partial data, degraded connections and service unavailability.
- Coordinate with the technical team on API contracts and raise gaps before they reach production.
6. Prototypes and Client Demonstrations
- Produce clickable product prototypes for client, partner and investor conversations.
- Maintain demonstration environments so the product can be shown reliably and at short notice.
- Support the delivery of demonstrations, including answering technical questions in the room.
7. Design System and Digital Materials
- Apply and maintain the company design system across all product surfaces, including tokens, type scale, components and usage rules.
- Produce supporting digital materials where required, including presentation templates and email signatures.
- Maintain consistency between product surfaces, documentation and client-facing collateral.
8. Quality, Testing and Accessibility
- Write and maintain tests appropriate to the surface, and ensure behaviour can be verified before it is trusted.
- Apply accessibility standards to a level appropriate for enterprise and public-sector procurement.
- Monitor and address front-end performance, including load behaviour on constrained connections.
- Maintain documentation of interface decisions, component usage and known limitations.
9. Security, Data Handling and Governance
- Handle client data in the interface layer according to the applicable data classification and retention rules.
- Ensure no data is exposed to third-party services without an approved basis.
- Follow approved change, review and release practices, and ensure released work is traceable to an accountable person.
- Escalate any interface behaviour that would weaken a governance control rather than working around it.
10. Other Duties as Assigned
- Support additional product delivery, prototyping, documentation or demonstration tasks as required.
- Assist during delivery peaks, client pilots, tender submissions and platform releases.
- Contribute to improvement initiatives across product delivery and the wider technology function.
Job Specifications
- Job Grade: Senior specialist role, reflecting delivery ownership, review responsibility and accountability for released client-facing work.
- Job Classification: given the requirement to exercise independent judgement over what is released and to hold accountability for it.
- Direct Reports: None at this stage. The role directs AI agents supporting front-end delivery and coordinates with the technical team.
- Internal Stakeholders: SoveraTech delivery, the technical team, Chief Technology and Strategy, the intelligence verification function, and Centre of Excellence.
- External Stakeholders: Clients during demonstrations and onboarding; implementation or design partners where engaged.
- Seniority is defined by judgement and accountability rather than by years of service.
- Employment and administration: HR, payroll and attendance are administered by the Al Thuraya Egypt office, which provides these services for all group companies. The employing entity is SoveraTech Technology once its registration completes; until then the group structure applies (TBD).
Qualifications
1. Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent demonstrable professional experience.
- Professional training in front-end engineering, accessibility, or user-interface design is preferred.
2. Experience
- 5-8 years of professional front-end engineering experience, including ownership of a production application.
- Demonstrable production experience in React and TypeScript. Experience with Vite and Tailwind is preferred.
- Demonstrable experience building and releasing interfaces in Arabic with correct right-to-left behaviour. This is a requirement rather than a preference.
- Experience integrating against a real back-end, including authentication, session handling and error states.
- Experience reviewing the work of other engineers as a routine part of the role.
- Experience with AI-assisted development is preferred, particularly where the candidate can describe where it fails as well as where it succeeds.
- Experience delivering to enterprise, regulated or public-sector clients is an advantage.
- Experience with React Native or mobile web applications is a plus. The product ships as responsive web first; native development is not required.
3. Knowledge
- Front-End Engineering: strong command of modern React, TypeScript, component architecture, state management and build tooling.
- Internationalisation: bilingual interface delivery, right-to-left layout systems, numeral and typography handling.
- Integration: REST and typed API clients, authentication flows, permission and tenancy models.
- Quality: testing strategies for interface code, accessibility standards, and front-end performance.
- Design Systems: working from tokens and component specifications without requiring a designer in the loop.
- Data Handling: awareness of data classification, retention and third-party exposure in the interface layer.
- Server Literacy: ability to read Node and Express code is an advantage, since integration questions resolve faster when the interface engineer can read the other side.
4. Skills
- Critical review of code the candidate did not write, including machine-generated code.
- Clear technical judgement about what is ready to release and what is not.
- Ability to translate a product requirement into an interface without a detailed specification.
- Debugging and root-cause analysis in a live environment.
- Clear written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong documentation practice.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise, and deliver against a plan.
- Fluency in English. Arabic is a strong advantage.
5. Attributes
- Comfortable being accountable for work the post-holder did not personally write.
- Appropriately sceptical of output that looks correct on first inspection.
- Willing to say no to a design, a deadline or an agent’s output, and able to explain why.
- Product-minded rather than ticket-minded.
- Comfortable in a small team where responsibilities are broad and change quickly.
- Curious about where AI-assisted delivery is genuinely useful and where it is not.
Benefits
- Medical Insurance: as per company policy.
- Work Environment: small product team building a governed AI platform for enterprise and public-sector clients, with direct ownership of client-facing surfaces.
- Development Opportunities: direct experience in AI-assisted product delivery, bilingual product engineering, and governed release practice.
